The College Placement Test is use by Colleges and Universities across the United States to determine the appropriate course level for incoming freshmen. By doing well on this exam, students can avoid being placed into remedial classes....saving time and money!!! The CPT uses the Accuplacer system and is a computer adaptive test (CAT) which means that the test is graded as you go along and if you get a question wrong, the next question presented will be of lower difficulty and vice versa. The test is not a pass/fail test, rather institutions set point levels that determine class placement. Hence it is important to do well on the CPT.
